Todd Morris: Surveillance & Security Consultant

Todd MorrisHigh in the mountains of Southeast Asia on a hiking and climbing vacation, Todd Morris found himself in a precarious position -- lost in a dead-end cave, he realized that a personal GPS tracker would have given him some peace of mind as well as access to security in this far-flung corner of the world. His light bulb moment ultimately led to a life-changing career, as founder and president of BrickHouse Security, which provides state-of-the-art security and technology solutions to government, business and individuals. Trusted by law enforcement specialists and security professionals all over the world, the company strives to make the latest personal security devices accessible to the general public. In fact, what Todd now calls "security for the rest of us" is a company priority.

Morris founded the New York City-based firm in 2003 after an impressive 15-year career in the software industry, where he worked for such visionary companies as Apple, Adobe and MapQuest, leading the development of custom technology for large clients. When he was charged with finding or developing a GPS tracker and panic button for use in law enforcement, his quest uncovered a broader demand for location-based security, from affordable child locators for family use to easy-to-use GPS tracking systems for teen and employee monitoring. While continuing the development of the complex solutions required by the government and a fast-growing list of security-minded corporations, Morris launched BrickHouseSecurity.com, a consumer- and small business-focused Web site, to provide access to hard-to-find security products for professional and personal use. The site launched to immediate success in 2004, and has seen over 200% growth each year since its inception. In early 2008, he launched BrickHouse-ChildSafety.com to meet the needs of concerned families who want to better protect their children.

BrickHouseSecurity.comThe company maintains headquarters in midtown Manhattan, where Todd and a staff of technology and security advisors counsel visitors and clients on solutions to their particular security or surveillance problems.

A native New Yorker, Morris studied business at American University, working part-time at Apple while still attending school and then joining the company after graduation. A frequent guest speaker at noteworthy professional conferences including ISC, ASIS, Comdex, NAB, Seybold and Angelbeat, he is an active participant in round-table discussions regarding all aspects of security and surveillance technology. He is also a frequent guest on broadcast news shows, where he is adept at relaying complex security and technology information and strategies to a general audience.

Still an avid sportsman and climber, Todd is married and has one child.
